  • Learn Some Really Good Skin Tips
  • Here are four good skin tips to go along with some of the others I have published recently. The advice here comes from some of the latest anti-aging studies.

    Avoid Eating Simple Carbs

Simple carbs include refined sugar and grains. They are found in baked goods and processed foods. When we eat them, they cause spikes in blood sugar levels that can set into action a chain of events that leads to the formation of Advanced Glycation End-products, aptly referred to as AGEs.

AGEs are known to be a cause of aging on a cellular level. Recent studies have shown that AGEs are a cause of wrinkles.

Avoid Petrolatum, Mineral Oil and Sodium Laurel Sulfate

Those three ingredients are widely used in the cosmetic industry. They can be found in cleansers, lotions, shampoos and makeup. Recent studies indicate that the ingredients may contribute to the growth of cancerous lesions on the skin's surface. The results are preliminary. The ingredients have not been deemed carcinogenic. But it is better to be safe than sorry.

Well known risks associated with the regular use of products containing those ingredients include acne, dry skin, eczema and premature aging.

    Invest in a Water Filter

This is one of the good skin tips that are becoming more popular. Until recently, showerhead filters were something of a celebrity secret. Dr Oz and other famous individuals have shared the secret with their audiences. The doctor's main concern is the risk of exposure to chemicals found in publicly treated supplies.

The reason it is important to your skin's appearance has to do with those same chemicals. They cause dryness issues, which increases your risk of infection, injury and premature aging.

    Use Natural Anti-Aging Creams

While this might sound like one of the good skin tips for older individuals, it is never too early (or too late) to start protecting your appearance from the things that cause wrinkles and other signs of aging. Anti-aging creams provide protection similar to what accompanies the consumption of fruits and vegetables.

The only difference is that the antioxidants are concentrated.

Before you buy a cream, evaluate the ingredients to be sure they are natural antioxidants and not synthetic or artificial preservatives. Make sure that the other ingredients are not allergens or irritants.

The creams can make a big difference in your appearance, but only if they contain the right ingredients. That's it for today's good skin tips. Hope you enjoy them.
